More Than 100,000 Police Officers Will Be Mobilized to Ensure Security During Elections

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Interior, DPM Sar Kheng, has said that more than 100,000 police officers will be deployed to maintain security and order during the upcoming 7th National Assembly election.

DPM Sar Kheng made this statement during the ceremony to disseminate the joint instruction on the activities and organization of election security agencies in the campaign to protect the 7th National Assembly Election 2023 on Thursday, 6 April 2023.

The Minister of Interior shared that the National Police Commissioner, Net Savoeun, has been preparing and training forces, especially Defense Forces, to maintain order during the elections.

The DPM also reminded the relevant parties to organize an information gathering and quick reaction team to disseminate real facts around the election to the national and international public, as well as to neutralize the influence of any fabrication, disinformation or distortions of the situation on the ground, in order to eliminate any confusion in a timely manner.

The 7th National Assembly Election of 2023 will be held on 23 July 2023.
